hi erin. i"m hanif from Kuantan, Pahang Malaysia. really enjoyed reading ur write up. just came back from this Lagenda Park last week. the story about all the legends r very interesting but very sad to look at the place now and all the sculptures, not well maintain. some were broken. The authority need to do something about this place. They should collaborate with tourism agencies, "re-create" back this place. we imaging (with my wife), a tour guide brings us in thru the park (with buggy)...stop at each of the sculptures and explaining the story behind it. Really hope LADA/local authority do something about it.

Hi Erin, I have a soft spot for taman lagenda because as a child, i had fond memories visiting the garden with my family. There used to be a buggy service with a local guide that would take you around the garden in chronology of the legend. It was amazing and i was awe-struck by the sculptures and stories behind them. I visited the garden 17 years later to find in pretty much the same condition you described above and it is heartbreaking. Because that place is really a gem of Langkawi Island. But the some of sculptures have been repainted and in slightly better condition than the ones i’ve seen in your pictures.anyways Thank you for this post, reading the comments I know a lot of travellers (local or from abroad) would love to see this garden be in all its glory again. Hopefully it will
