In reply to <a href="https://www.travelingthruhistory.com/visiting-kuala-lumpurs-national-mosque/#comment-3636">Lisa</a>.

Thank you for your comment and for voicing your concern. My reason for putting that remark in there is that some people may feel they are unable to visit a mosque due to being dressed inappropriately, but that they can still go and not be treated any different than anyone else. In my conversations with people who have visited Muslim countries, I've repeatedly heard that they felt they would be turned away or treated rudely if they attempted to visit a mosque in shorts or a tank top, so it is a real concern for some people. I'm sorry you found the remark offensive and stigmatizing. I do appreciate you taking the time to let me know it could cause offense. I've weighed your thoughts and have decided to keep the remark in as the purpose is just to show those with concerns that they will still be welcome to visit without any problems.

Of the other visitors we saw, most were not dressed appropriately for visiting a mosque, but the greeters did not harass or make disparaging comments to anyone.

Why would they? Great post overall but considering you are quite high in google results i would consider removing this stigmatizing remark.
